05-09-2026: Our new spot in Delft South was a bit disappointing today. Only this bream felt like biting.
07-09-2026: In my hometown Zoetermeer, fishing is promoted. Through the municipality. Residents can download a free fishing permit that allows them to fish in various waters.
12-09-2026: This weekend, we visited the lovely town of Brielle. Unfortunately, the town's waterways aren't covered by my fishing permit, but fortunately, there are various options in the surrounding area. The Brielsemeer lies between the town of Brielle and the Port of Rotterdam.
13-09-2026: Between the rain showers, we went fishing for a few hours for rudd and roach.
14-09-2026: The plan was to use up all the bait that was left today. But actually, I wanted to stay at the spot a bit longer. What beautiful roach are swimming here! And besides a small asp that I managed to catch, another asp also bit a fish that was on my line. Unfortunately, it got off just before the landing net.
20-09-2026: Since my eldest son wanted to go to a reptile expo in Houten, I went fishing nearby. The first few hours got off to a good start with various roach, bream, and eventually a nice tench. Unfortunately, the fish stopped biting after 11:00 a.m.
25-09-2026 till 27-09-2026: The annual fishing trip with my former colleagues from Ikea went to the Belgian Ardennes again this year. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to catch anything in the Ourthe on Friday morning. So in the afternoon, we already drove to the campsite to fish in the carp pond there.
On Saturday morning we drove to the beautiful town of Hotton. Last year I managed to caught a nice carp here. This year, it was small barbel that were abundantly present. In the end, I managed to catch six of them before we drove on to the Meuse by the city of Dinant.
The Meuse at Dinant is known for its carp, catfish, and barbel. Unfortunately, it wasn't until 7:00 PM that I got my first bite. To my own surprise, I managed to land a nice carp with my feeder rod.
Because one of my old colleagues had to be home in the evening, we went fishing relaxedly at the campsite pond today. The first few hours went very well with the feeder rod. After that, it was quiet for a few hours until I saw a group of carp swimming 50cm from the edge of the pond. A small float rod turned out to be the solution to catch a few more carp.
