2-08-2025 till 4-08-2025: Now that my children are getting older, they are starting to live their own lives more. Fishing with their father is no longer a top priority. To my great joy, my oldest son and his girlfriend came to me a few weeks ago asking if we could go carp fishing sometime. A silly question of course! So we immediately booked a weekend at one of the new lakes at Karperhoeve in Belgium. Okay, they weren't the biggest and prettiest carp we caught. But that wasn't what this weekend was about for me. The time spent together with my son and his girlfriend was much more important.
15-08-2025: Another fun evening fishing with my oldest son. To our surprise, the first fish we caught was a pike-perch. Two more nice bass followed. Gouda remains a great city for fishing.
18-08-2025: The original plan was to catch a carp or a tench. However, fishing with corn might not have been a good idea at this moment. The roach are also getting bigger and were quicker to the corn than the carp and tench.
23-08-2025: I prefer not to catch them while carp fishing. But during an evening of float fishing, bream are still fantastic fish to catch.
24-08-2025: I'm not really experienced in sea fishing. Sometimes in life you have to seek out a challenge, so today we went sea fishing from the beach. To my own surprise, I managed to catch my first flounder within five minutes. Five more followed. A very enjoyable day, which has definitely made me want to go sea fishing more often.
30-08-2025: A few hours of fishing in the evening produced two beautiful pike.
