07-06-2025: Now that the pike season has reopened, I went fishing in the center of Gouda with my oldest son. It was a nice evening during which we managed to catch pike and 4 perch.
13-06-2025: Actually, I was too tired to go fishing after a day of work. But when your son keeps asking you to go fishing with him, you can't say no. In the end, it turned into a nice evening of fishing with a perch and a zander.
15-06-2025 till 16-06-2025: We Dutch people often forget how beautiful our own country is. That's why my wife and I enjoy looking for a cheap little hotel in a place we haven't been to yet. This time we went to B&B Bij Bokkie in beautiful Rijswijk, near Maurik. Unfortunately, due to the strong wind, we couldn't catch any zander, but on Sunday and Monday we managed to catch a nice pike.
20-06-2025: When we were fishing for pike in Gouda last week, we saw another fisherman catch 2 eels in 10 minutes. Our interest was immediately piqued. It's been more than 10 years since I last managed to catch an eel. So today we drove to Gouda with a bucket of worms. Initially, we hooked a bunch of worms on the hook. But after a few hours of continually missing bites, we decided to put just 1 worm over the hook. In the end, that was the way to go, because then we managed to catch 2 eels. ...
23-06-2025: On the fishing planner app I regularly see fishing waters where we fishermen are allowed to fish, but where I have never seen another fisherman. For example, today I went fishing in a lake that I have driven past countless times. In addition to a tench, I also managed to catch 2 beautiful roach. And I saw several carp swimming. So I will definitely be here more often.
29-06-2025: On my homepage, I indicated that anyone who wants to fish in the Netherlands must have a fishing permit. This turns out not to be entirely true. Because in Zoetermeer, you can download a fishing permit for free. Which allows you to fish in various waters in Zoetermeer. Today, I went fishing in one of the parks, where I managed to catch several gibel carp.
