03-05-2025: Sometimes you have those days when everything goes well. Today I had only a few hours to fish. And when you manage to catch 6 nice carp with the feeder, and also in beautiful nature. Then the day is already good.
05-05-2025: While fishing for tench I always find out that I don't need a lot of money to have a nice day. A can of corn, 250 grams of bait and some food and drinks. That's basically all I need that day. And if I also catch 4 beautiful tench. Then it has been another beautiful day.
10-05-2025: Nowadays, you can find a lot of information about fishing waters on Google Earth. But upon arrival, it can look a bit different. Just like yesterday. I didn't really have much faith in this spot. The water had a muddy color. For an hour, I got some bites from roach. I was actually wanting to go home when suddenly my rod was pulled from the rest. The result was this beautiful mirror carp.
12-05-2025: I still find fishing for tench one of the most fun things to do. Enjoying nature, a nice podcast and then catching one of the most beautiful fish in the Netherlands. Life can be so beautiful with so little.
17-05-2025: It started so well this morning. Within 15 minutes I had caught 2 carp. And just when you think it's going to be a great day....., nothing bit for the next 2 hours.
19-05-2025: Fishing in a new lake is also a matter of investment. I quickly realized that next time I need to create a larger bait spot. To attract the fish, but especially to keep them on the bait spot. And when the feeder rod is bent by a little carp, then the day is good again.
29-05-2025 till 01-06-2025: The second carp fishing holiday of this year went to Lac Rogers, Butterfly Lake. June, July, and August are not my favorite months to go fishing in France. However, with the increasingly higher temperatures, they slowly start to belong here at the end of May. Thursday was still manageable at 25 degrees. But on Friday, the temperature went up to 30 degrees. This, combined with high atmospheric pressure, made it not the easiest conditions for fishing. Fortunately, I managed to catch a nice carp on Saturday morning. This was the cherry on the cake. Because with nice weather, a beautiful location, and great fishermen, it were a few lovely days.
On the first night, we decided not to go fishing. This was to take our rest after a long journey. At 2 o'clock at night, I woke up from what I then thought was one ant walking over my leg. Unfortunately, it turned out to be not just one ant, but hundreds. Unfortunately, I had set up my tent on an ant nest on Thursday night.
