06-10-2025: The pike weren't really in the mood today. Only after walking for 2 hours did I find a spot with clear water. And right there, it was immediately on ;)
11-10-2025: The pike season is really starting now. After I missed the first pike, I managed to catch this one.
12-10-2025: It took a little searching. But after an hour, I managed to catch this beautiful pike.
18-10-2025 till 25-10-2025: Fishing in Germany is quite a hurdle for us Dutch people to overcome.
1: Fishing permits are not available online.
2: You need to arrange two permits: a national one and a local one.
3: In Germany, you have to kill every fish you catch.
Especially point 3 is a bit of an issue for us Dutch. Why unnecessarily kill a fish that, if released, could still reproduce? In my opinion, Germans have a lot of things well-organized. But when it comes to fishing, they still seem to be living in the Middle Ages.
To avoid all these problems, I booked a little house this week with a garden by the water ;)
Apart from the bream, the other fish really didn’t want to bite. But as always, it turned out well in the end with 2 nice zander and a beautiful perch.
